Regional Health Governance: A Comparative Perspective on EU and ASEAN

Marie Lamy & Dr Phua Kai Hong’s policy brief “Regional Health Governance: A Comparative Perspective on EU & ASEAN” looks at the potential of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to take a lead in regional health cooperation in health policy and to work closely with WHO to become a global health actor. Through a comparative study of the regional mechanisms for health cooperation in the European Union (EU) and ASEAN, the brief looks at examples from the EU to determine which aspects of its integrated cooperation system may be useful to ASEAN, keeping in mind the particularities of the Southeast Asian context.
